Greater Emmanuel Word of Faith Christian Community, Inc., was started on June 18, 1995, under the leadership of Founder and Pastor Delores Taylor. The first service was held at home of Thaxton L. Taylor and wife, Pastor Delores Taylor. Greater Emmanuel Word of Faith Christian Community, Inc. is a non-denominational Christian ministry.
In February 1996, we relocated to the Holiday-Inn North, 3050 University Parkway, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where we worship on Sunday (morning/evening worship), Monday (bible study), and Wednesday (intercessory Prayer).
In August 1996 we relocated to a permanent (leased) facility on 1420 North Liberty Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27051. While we were leasing this facility we were paying for 27.98 acres of land in Walkertown, NC. In 2000, we started constructing our new facility. On October 31, 2001 we moved into our new facility on 4144 Mecum in which we changed the number to 4150 Mecum Road, Walkertown, NC.
God showed Pastor Delores Taylor a vision and this is what God is going to accomplish through the members of Greater Emmanuel Word of Faith Christian Community, Inc. Our vision is stated as followed:
§ To maintain spiritual union and power, we will do as Jesus commanded in John 13:34-35, " A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; As I have loved you, that ye also love one another." By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if you have love one to another."
§ To teach the concept of the whole Bible, to meet the needs of the whole man, body, soul and spirit. To make the teaching simple enough for even a child to understand also to have seminars and classes for all ages.
§ To create an atmosphere where people with all manner for sickness and ailments can come to hear the Word of God that will minister to the wholeness with understanding. To create a place where people can come to receive deliverance, to build lives, relationships, self-esteem, character, and family stability. A place to meet the need of the whole family. Places where everybody feels welcome and know that they are someone special.
§ To move in the area of Outreach Ministries that will involve the community and worldwide. This will include every people with no exception or respect of persons. This will include the: Inner City, Youth, Drug Dependent, Radio, TV, Flyers, Tracks, Prisons, Singles Outreach, Elderly Homes, Adult Daycare, Convalescent Homes and Hospitals, but not limited to.
§ To develop a Youth Ministry for ages 0-20. This ministry will be in line wit the Word of God whereas they will not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of their mind in Christ Jesus.
§ To secure a facility to help those that are in need. This will be a daycare, food supplement, temporary shelter and whatever else God instructs us to do with His house. The Holy Sanctuary and grounds will be maintained in accordance to God's instructions.
